A creative writer, beach lover, pug obsessed, and recent college graduate from the University at Albany. I like to live my life by my favorite quotes, "just keep swimming" and "she believed she could, so she did."

I am fortunate enough to live on Long Island and I am from the small town of Sayville, New York, where I like to believe is home of the best pizza and bagels. Living in a small town, where everyone knows everyone, doesn't help when you go to Ralph's Famous Italian Ices every other day to get the best cream ice flavor, chocolate fudge brownie, and you are on a first name basis with the employees.

Since I was little, I always had a passion for creative writing. I had this composition notebook that I took everywhere with me and the pages were filled with crazy stories that reflected my imagination. Creative writing is what stole my heart and initially sparked my love for writing. My family and friends would tell me that I have “a way with words” and my grandmother always said that she wishes she could write like me. The motivation from my family and the freedom I felt when writing during my childhood is the reason why I wanted to pursue becoming a journalist. 

It wasn't until college that I started to pursue writing seriously and was given educational opportunities to jump start my journalism career. A pivotal moment for me that not only helped me grow as a writer, but as a person, was when I was presented the opportunity to become a paid, freelance reporter at the young age of 18-years-old.

With hectic schedules and pressures from society, writing acts a creative outlet for me to let my mind wander and escape. When I'm not writing for school or work, I am passionate about covering issues concerning women's rights/equality and beauty/lifestyle. I love being able to use my voice to tell people's unique stories and share them with others. Pursuing my bachelor's degree sparked this passion because going away to school allowed me to interact with people outside my tiny hometown and meet people from all over the world, with different stories to tell. 

When I'm not writing or constantly checking the news, I love to binge watch beauty/lifestyle videos on Youtube, which is another one of my passions, and spend time with friends and family. I love spending time outdoors, whether that be going on a hike or going out on my boat with my family and having a beach day at Fire Island. 

The journalism field being so big is a blessing  because you are presented with so many job opportunities, it's hard to choose just one. Throughout my journalism career, I hope to be able to work in all the different fields I've always dreamt of working in and make the most out of my career. Currently, I'm interested in social media and would love to work at a magazine publication, such as Cosmopolitan or Teen Vogue, where I can combine my love for light-hearted, creative writing and beauty.
